Muta Scale Score: 0.8

(Apologies for the poor quality but its the only one I could find that wasn't a highlights reel.)

This is an interesting one. It seems like it was supposed to be either Tommy Dreamer and Beulah McGillicutty vs Fonzie and someone else(Possibly Shane Douglas) or Dreamer vs Fonzie but Tommy was taken out before the match started. So what do we get? A dude vs a chick. Fuckin' ECW man. Love that shit. Beulah had already competed in a few matches and had shown off some pretty neatass moonsaults, so when it comes to someone kicking Fonzie's ass, who better than the hot chick doing back flips?

This match starts off with Beulah pulling a tray out from under her shirt which Fonzie punches like a dumbass and then gets bust open with it like a dumbass. Sadly the quality is too bad to get a decent look at it so you'll have to give me sometime to either upload it myself or find a better quality version.

Mr Mcmahon vs The Undertaker

Match: The Under Taker vs Mr McMahon - Survivor Series 2003 - Buried Alive Match

Promotion: WWE

Length: 16.21

Muta Scale score: 9.0

If there's one thing I learnt from watching WWE is that Mr McMahon is perfectly willing to get beat the fuck up in the name of his business. In this one, he's bust open immediately but it looks like whoever showed Vince how to blade fucked up badly because it just gushes out. And this was apparently just from Undertaker's punches so god knows what an actual chair shot from him would actually be like. The blood goes all over Vince, all over Taker, all over the ring and all over the announce table.

Samoa Joe vs Jay Briscoe

Match: Jay Briscoe vs Samoa Joe - At Our Best - 2004

Promotion: Ring of Honour

Length: 15:12

Muta Scale Score:0.9

Our first entry from ROH has Samoa Joe against Jay Brisoe in a steel cage match. Speaking as someone who hasn't seen much of ROH, I was doubtful going in as to what to expect. Then Samoa Joe starting headbutting Briscoe's hand and then my doubt just evaporated.

Briscoe, playing the coward, continually tries to flee from Joe and scale the cage only to be dragged back each time. He eventually gets his shit together and the match really kicks off. Then it quickly returns to the prementioned formula of cowardice and Samoa Joe stomping. At 4:52 Briscoe is revealed to have been busted open after Joe slammed him off the cage numourus times. Instantly the right side of the forehead is covered and after a crap load of headshots its covering his face and his chest. At one point Joe delivers a boot to the forehead and we can see a steady stream dripping from his head. The blood actually splatters to outside the cage. By the ninth mineute of the match he's starting to look like Two Face, with the entire right side of his face is drenched in blood.

The Mass Transit Incident

Match: The Ganstas(New Jack and Mustafa) vs D-Von Dudley and Mass Transit

Promotion: ECW

Length: 6:39

Muta Scale Score: 1.0

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=1d4_1367302916&comments=1

The above link takes you to a site where you have to confirm you are over the age of 18 before you can view this footage. If you're a wrestling fan then you will have heard of the Mass Transit incident. An ECW house show took place November 23, 1996 at the Wonderland Ballroom in Revere, Massachusetts. The scheduled match was Axl Rotten and D-Von Dudley vs The Gangstas. Axl Rotten failed to show up (The two reasons usually given are either a family emergency or Paul Heyman didn't buy him a plane ticket). Eric Kulas, some kid who has just turned 18, came over to Heyman and co. claiming to be professional wrestler trained by Killer Kowalski. After convincing Heyman he was also 19 Heyman allowed him to replace Rotten, giving him the gimmick of Mass Transit, some kind of bus driver. Pre match, he asked New Jack to blade him, because he'd never done it before. Ofcourse this went tits up when ECW style wrestling took place and much to everyone's surprise, the kid couldn't handle it.

The match starts off with D-Von quickly being defeated outside the ring, allowing The Gangstas to double team Transit. This naturally comes in the form of an ECW beat down using a bunch of random shit (And the obligatory toaster). Following this New Jack takes an exacto knife to Transit's forehead which severs two arteries and the blood immediately pools underneath the kid's face. The Gangstas continue the beatdown, presuming they're dealing with a trained wrestler. At one point Mustafa seems to bend down to check on the kid and then say something to New Jack. I'm guessing that the kid said he was fine to keep going and Mustafa passed the news onto New Jack. After a brutal chair shot, New Jack pins Transit and the match is over. The camera zooms into the FUCKING BLOOD SQUIRTING. Medic' arrive and New Jack keeps the audience occupied by remaining in character and going on a rant.

Now I'm gonna say this flat out. I hate New Jack. Guys an asshole but its Kulas that's the bad guy in this situation. Flat out lying to Heyman and crew just to get himself in a wrestling in match? Stupid kid. Basic summary: Guy thought he was hot shit on fine china when he was really cold diorarea on a paper plate.

Eddie Guerrero vs JBL Judgement Day 2004

Match: Eddie Guerrero vs JBL -Judgement Day 2004

Promotion: WWE

Length: 31.21

Muta Scale Score: 1.1

That's right. This early on and a match breaks the scale. Muta may have lost alot of blood but sweet Jesus Guerrero had a river of blood. He lost so much that he wouldn't be able to perform at full strength for a couple of weeks. The blade job was planned but Guerrero cut too deep and we got a fountain of blood spewing from his forehead which even caused your humble narrator to cringe.

Eddie Guerrero, while a popular wrestler, Everyone can admit his death was milked to no end by WWE. It was actually disgusting how far they took it but fact is, he's still one of my favorites. I dug his cheating routine because he got away with it. The fact that he can cheat in such clever yet obvious ways amused me to no end.

John Cena vs. JBl- Judgment Day 2005 - I Quit Match

Match: John Cena vs. JBl- I Quit Match Judgment Day 2005 - Video Dailymotion

Promotion: WWE

Length: 29:10

Muta Scale Score: 1.0

Now, I hate John Cena as much as everyone else. He has no personality, limited skills but I'm gonna admit, despite the obvious outcome, his I quit matches can be entertaining as hell. And you know what's great? This is pre Super Cena. This means we got...Rapper Cena...still douchey as fuck but not quite as annoying. Luckily JBL is in this match and him being a great heel makes Cena more bearable. Now before I go on a Cena rant; lets talk about the match.

The blood starts flowing at around the 14 minute mark and boy does it flow. A chair shot from JBL busts open Cena and it starts pumping out like a water gun full of tomato sauce...and while you enjoy that mental image lets talk about JBL getting bust open. Later on in the match JBL...gets bust open. He has so much blood on his face from Cena that I can't even identify the moment he does. I've gone through the match three times now and just nothing. Cena's blood ends up covering JBL, Cena's chest and shorts and even the roof of JBL's limousine. An extremely bloody match that's a mandatory viewing for bloodhounds.

The Great Muta vs Hiroshi Hase: Our First Post

Welcome to The Muta Scale. The site dedicated to finding the bloodiest matches in Wrestling history.

Match: The Great Muta vs Hiroshi Hase

Length: 26:47

Promotion: New Japan Pro Wrestling

Muta scale score: 0.8

The first match that I of course have to cover is the match that gives the site its namesake. The match begins with Hiroshi, joined by his Porn Stache and mullet, have a stare off with the painted red Muta. The first 15 minutes of the match is very technical and entertaining but its not until 14:58 before The Great Muta's epic blade job takes place. The red make up, now worn of his face, is quickly replace with a crimson mask of his own blood.
All I can say is, while bloody as fuck, this is not the worst we've got. The next few entries will cover some of the bloodiest entries onto the scale.
